I have started watching Dr. Fungs videos! I started with the interview he did on the Diary of a ceo podcast which I found very fascinating! Mind you I recognize that I need to watch that video again to retain more info from it and I have started watching his other videos as well. I was under the assumption that because I'm fasting and in ketosis that the metabolic affects may be lessened as any additional caloric needs of my Basal metabolic rate ( i think? ) should be satisfied by dietary and stored fats on my body? I thought that has something to do with keeping your baseline metabolism about the same as long as you remain in ketosis where as maybe if you're just restricting calories and not making the switch into ketosis your metabolism is basically guaranteed to tank on you? Like I said I need more time to re absorb the information and understand it. Thank you for your input though, really interesting to think about!

Insulin lowering is necessary, but not sufficient to facilitate easier weight loss. One can still maintain weight while ketogenic with enough dietary energy.

Interesting, I'll have to do some more research on protein and how maybe that is affecting some things for me. To be fair, I am not over compensating for eating one meal a day and calorie restriction by increasing my protein intake. I eat a protien portion that most people eating three meals a day would eat with their dinner, so hopefully that benefits my goals. Thanks for info!
