How do you fight the "power of prayer"?

I am currently in a hard place with my mother. My sister and I are LGBT. My sister fostered and adopted at risk youth. The current administration is making her choices an extreme risk and she is contemplating fleeing the country. My mother only gets her news from newsmax and everything I bring to her showing what the current administration is doing she only responds with "oh, I didn't know about that" and when I challenge her on anything she just responds "I have been following my prayers. I just pray and do what god tells me.". No matter what evidence I show her she just refutes it with "I prayed on it and god told me so.". How can I fight this and show her that her children's lives are being ruined when she believes that god is speaking to her?
