ATM 9: To The Sky - Occultism Other World Goggles Not Giving Third Eye Effect

I put on the goggles and it has the purple hue effect and the trees show as other world trees, but the actual effect doesn't work since I just get oak wood instead. Am I reading this wrong or is it bugged?
