Job Summary:
Join a growing team of over 120 professionals in the Halifax office, supporting U.S.-based clients. As a Financial Analyst, you will manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing the day-to-day activities of various captive insurance companies and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities: - Prepare financial statements accurately and timely, including supplemental financial information required by clients. - Reconcile cash and investment accounts; prepare bank deposits and cash disbursements. - Plan and complete annual audits for clients, including preparation of regulatory filings and GAAP financial statements. - Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory processes for local accounting and financial reporting. - Maintain client files in accordance with regulations and best practices. - Develop relationships with clients and third-party providers. - Correspond with other service providers. - Prepare materials for board and committee meetings; participate in annual board meetings and other client meetings. - Comply with Marsh internal controls and client-specific internal controls. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: - CPA Designation or CPA enrollment preferred, or 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial statement preparation and General Ledger. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent. - Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and meet tight deadlines. - Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail. - Outstanding interpersonal skills and effective communication with all levels of the organization and external clients. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant captive experience. - 1-2 years of experience working with or within an insurance company, familiar with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). - Familiarity with U.S. regulatory requirements for insurance companies.
