is steamrip still safe

i know steamrip was said to be safe and i used it for a long time but i recently installed far cry 4 from it and 1. it had unnecessary files that was freaking out my anti virus (i whitelisted all crack and dll injector category and the game run without) 2. when playing a bitcoin miner warning pop up before my pc started to shit itself it was freaking out for at least 5 minute after closing the game i instantly deleted the game recent files the cache and checked system informer for any weird process I did not install anything else even pictures for 2 weeks before this happened and of course i have uBlock fast forward and LocalCDN

is it something they started doing recently or at some point they where doing it or are they just taking files from random people or other sites and i just was unlucky enough to download a files from a person with devilish intentions

edit: i guess it was a really rare case so i may still use steamrip in the future as i never had issues before and i was able to get ride of the malware easily just avoid ubisoft drm protected games
