Questions on prescription.
Recently, I had a seizure due to low blood sugar, which led to me having some tongue contusions and lower back pain (among other things). For this, I was prescribed chlorhexodine gluconate, ibuprofen and cyclobenzaprine. These all make sense to me. The last one I was prescribed though, is leaving me confused: benzonatate.
Now I want to be crystal clear on the fact I do trust this doctor. Even if I didn't, a cough suppressant feels like a weird thing for a pill mill to give out in the first place. But i don't really understand what it's doing for me here. I'm not upset, i'm just curious and this was the best place I could think to find answers.
Also, since the board requires me to specify (though I dont really see it as important in this case specifically): I'm 25, male, about 5'6", about 140lbs, white, there's no real "complaint; but I guess muscle trauma is most applicable here, I have diabetes for which I take humalog (about 160 units / 3 days), and I drink (but didn't around the time this was happening).
